Orange Field Naturalist & Conservation Society

Orange Field Naturalist & Conservation Society has been active in conservation since its creation in 1974.

The group welcomes people of all ages and experience. The only criterion is an interest in the natural world.

The aims of the society are:
  1. To hold public meetings to educate members and supporters about nature conservation.
  2. To produce newsletters aimed at informing members and the public of the activities of the Association.
  3. To organise field trips and working bees aimed at studying and conserving Australia's natural environment.
  4. To conserve and replace natives trees and other flora.
  5. To monitor human impact on the natural environment and to advise public and private institutions of the environmental impact of thier activities.
  6. To enter joint activities with other groups sharing similar aims.

The group has one meeting each month on the 2nd Thursday. After the meeting there is usually a guest speaker, slide show or other activity. The Sunday following the meeting, the group has a field trip. This might be a bush walk, working bee, flora or fauna survey or other activity of interest to budding naturalists.
