Speaker – Bruce Hansen, Environmental Co-ordinator, Hotspots Program, Rural Fire Service (RFS).
Bruce will talk about the Hotspots community engagement program. It provides private landholders and land managers with the skills and knowledge to actively participate in fire management for the protection of life and property, while at the same time ensuring biodiversity is protected and maintained.
The program includes several hands-on field days, including a demonstration burn. It is jointly managed by the NSW RFS and the NSW Nature Conservation Council. There are also many supporting partner organisations, such as NPWS and LLS.
